What age can a baby use the Upseat?

The Upseat Baby Floor and Booster seat is ideal for babies and toddlers from ages 4 months to 2 years. However, every baby is different and the more important factor of when to begin using the Upseat is when your little one has head/neck control, and this usually occurs somewhere around 4 months old.

How much does a baby have to weight to use the Upseat?

The Upseat Floor and Booster Seat has a weight capacity of 30 lbs or 13.6 kg.

What accessories does the Upseat come with?

Each Upseat comes with a safety harness strap, a large tray, and booster seat conversion straps, at no extra cost.

How much time do you recommend using the Upseat per day?

Every baby is different, so we recommend that you consult with your physical therapist. However, we work closely with several physical therapists, and they have recommended that parents put their babies in the Upseat for short periods of time and then progressively increase the amount of time.

What do I do if my baby is extra mobile in the Upseat? It looks like they might tip.

If your baby is starting to lean backwards, it may be time to start using the Upseat as a booster seat only. Simply use the booster seat conversion straps, and your wiggly baby will be safely secured.

If you would like to continue using the Upseat as a floor seat with your growing babe, no problem! We'd like to introduce you to the Splat Mat, which doubles as a docking station for extra-mobile babies. Thanks to the handy docking strap located in the middle of the mat, you can feel confident knowing that their wiggly baby is stable while upright and active in their Upseat. What is the height of the Upseat's backrest?

From the seat portion to the top of the Upseat, the backrest is 8" high.

What materials is the Upseat made of?

The seat is made from polyurethane foam and the tray is made from food grade ABS plastic. The Upseat’s materials are safe for children to use and do not contain any lead, phthalates, cadmium or BPA.

How do you clean the Upseat?

The Upseat and tray can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent. If needed, the tray is dishwasher friendly. Straps can also be removed and machine washed with cold water in a mesh bag. Air dry only and do not use bleach.

Please make sure the Upseat is fully dry before strapping to a dining chair to avoid any discoloration from occurring.

Is the tray dishwasher safe?

Yes! The tray is absolutely dishwasher safe.

Can I put the straps in the laundry machine?

If your Upseat's straps become dirty, we recommend that you hand-wash them using warm water and soap. We don't recommend putting them in the laundry, as the plastic buckles may break off.

How wide is the tray?

The Upseat’s large removable tray is almost 16.5" wide.

What is the width of the leg opening?

The Upseat’s leg openings are 4 inches, significantly wider than other baby seats, and wide enough to accommodate the healthiest thigh sizes.

What are the dimensions of the Upseat?

Leg openings = 4"

From pommel to back of the seat = 6.5"

From bottom of the seat to the top of back rest = 8"

Where do I find the model/series number and the manufacture date?

The numbers are stamped at the bottom of the seat, either in the centre or deep in the pommel.

My Upseat look like it's not in its original condition. Do you sell used products?

We do not sell used Upseats. However, if your Upseat arrived in a ripped bag or if you have other concerns, please reach out to us and we'll make it right.

Note: We make our Upseats like you bake a cake, and bubbles or small imperfections may form due to this process. This is normal and your Upseat is perfect to use!

My baby is starting to feel snug in the Upseat. Now what?

If your baby is starting to feel snug in the Upseat, it may be time to transition them to the Upseat Boost! The Boost is for children 18M+ and continues to encourage upright posture.

Will the Upseat fit a Pavlik harness?

The fit of the Upseat with a Pavlik harness will depend on the design and size of the harness being used. Nevertheless, we have received positive feedback from many parents who found the Upseat to be a great fit for their child's Pavlik harness. We recommend trying out the Upseat and if it doesn't fit, you can easily return the seat for a full refund.

The booster conversion straps are too long and are tightened all the way. What can I do?

The Upseat's booster seat conversion straps were designed longer in order to accommodate a variety of different chair sizes. If you are finding the straps are still loose, simply wrap the extra straps around the chair's legs.

Can I use the Upseat as a booster seat with the tray attached?

Certainly! The Upseat serves as an excellent highchair alternative, and we highly recommend utilizing the tray even when in booster seat mode. Our initial generation of the Upseat included instructions advising against tray usage in booster seat configuration, mainly due to a different tray design. However, with our latest tray version, you can confidently and safely use it in booster seat mode without any concerns. Your child's comfort and safety are our top priorities.

Upseat Boost

What age can a toddler use the Upseat Boost Children's Booster Seat?

The Upseat Boost is suitable for children able to sit up unassisted (minimum of 18 months old) and up to 5 years or a maximum weight of 50 lbs/22 kgs.

How much extra height does the Upseat Boost give?

The Boost gives children an extra 8" of height when the detachable platform is in use and an additional 5" of height without.

What materials is the Upseat Boost made of?

The Upseat Boost is made from polyurethane foam. The Upseat Boost's materials are safe for children to use and do not contain any led, phthalates or BPA.

What accessories does the Upseat Boost come with?

Each Upseat Boost comes with a 3-point harness and adjustable booster seat chair straps.

Returns

What is your return policy?

You can return your new Upseat or Upseat Boost for free within 30 days of your order being delivered. If 30 days have gone by, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To initiate a return, please fill out the form here or email us at info@nuvate.com.

At this time, we are only able to accept returns from American and Canadian customers. Please note, returns are only accepted for the Upseat and Upseat Boost purchased from www.theupseat.comWe do not accept returns from third party distributors or for our Refurbished Upseat.

We also offer a lifetime warranty on the Upseat. If you have any issues with the quality of the product, please contact us, and we will be happy to replace any defective item. We offer a one year warranty on the Upseat tray.

Do you offer replacement items for broken parts?

Yes! We deeply care about our customers. If you have a broken tray or strap, please contact us and we will happily send you a new item.

Afterpay

How do I use Afterpay?

Shop theupseat.com as usual — just choose "Afterpay" as your payment method at checkout, register with Afterpay and provide payment details (they accept domestic debit and credit cards and AMEX). If you’ve used Afterpay before, just log in to your Afterpay account and complete your order — it’s that easy!

Where can I use Afterpay?

Afterpay can only be used on purchases made on theupseat.com website.

How does the Afterpay payment schedule work?

All Afterpay customers are required to make their first payment at the time of purchase. Three remaining installment payments are deducted automatically from your selected payment method every two weeks. If you would like to make additional unscheduled payments before they are due, you may log in to Afterpay to make your payments early. Afterpay will then adjust your amount owed accordingly.

You can log in to your Afterpay account anytime to view your payment schedule or make a payment before the next due date.

Can I use Afterpay if I'm an international customer?

Afterpay is currently only offered to American customers who have a US billing address, US shipping address, a US Visa, Mastercard (credit or debit card), or AMEX, and a US mobile phone number.

When will my items be delivered if I use Afterpay?

Like any Upseat order, Afterpay orders are delivered within our standard shipping timeframes.

What if I can't pay an Afterpay installment?

Afterpay is a free service when you pay on time - there are no upfront fees charged or any interest incurred.

The only fees that may be incurred by shoppers are late fees if your scheduled payments are unsuccessfully processed and, after being notified, you do not log in to your Afterpay account to make your payment via a different method.

Late fees for shoppers in the USA are capped at 25% of the order value.

How do I return or exchange an item purchased with Afterpay?

Is using Afterpay bad for my credit score?

Afterpay does not affect your credit score or credit rating. Your credit score can be impacted when somebody does a credit check on you or if you are reported as paying debts late. However, at Afterpay, they never do credit checks or report late payments. They don’t believe in preventing people from accessing Afterpay because they may have had an old debt from a long time ago. And they don’t believe that missing a payment with Afterpay should result in a bad credit history - especially when the average purchase is only around $150. Afterpay's main aim is always to help you spend responsibly, and they take a lot of steps to help ensure this, including pausing your account when you miss a payment.

Orders and Shipping

What countries can you ship the Upseat to?

Currently, we are able to ship the Upseat to addresses in Canada and the United States. We hope to expand to more countries in the near future.

Can I cancel my order?

You can cancel up to 2 hours after you have placed your order. To do so, simply click on the "View your order" button in the order confirmation email you would have received. If you are within the 2 hour window, you will see a "Cancel" button on your order page.

Unfortunately after the 2 hour window has passed, we are unable to accommodate order cancellation requests.

I put the wrong address on my order, what should I do?

Please be careful when entering your shipping address, the Upseat will not be responsible for orders sent to the incorrect delivery address provided by the customer.

However, if you catch that you have inputted the wrong address within 2 hours of placing your order, you can cancel the order and reorder with the correct address. To do so, simply click on the "View your order" button in the order confirmation email you would have received. If you are within the 2 hour window, you will see a "Cancel" button on your order page.

Unfortunately after the 2 hour window has passed, we are unable to accommodate order cancellation requests.

How can I track my package?

Once your order has been fulfilled, you will receive an email from us with your tracking information. You can track the progress of your order directly on the tracking page.

Refurbished Program

Are the refurbished Upseats used?

Sometimes. Our Refurbished Program contains both used Upseats and "manufactured seconds." When we receive returned Upseats back to our factory, we vet through each and every one of them, inspecting to ensure that the condition is up to our standards. Our "manufactured seconds" are Upseats that have been manufactured with a very slight defect. However, the integrity and quality of the seat remains the same as our new seats.

Can I return the refurbished Upseat I bought?

Unfortunately, all Refurbished Upseats are final sale. While we do our best to ensure that each Refurbished Upseat is in great condition, the seats and packaging may be subject to slight imperfections.

What kind of condition can I expect with a refurbished Upseat?

We try our best to ensure that each refurbished Upseat is in great condition. However, you may see slight imperfections on the seat and box. Some imperfections may include scratch-like marks, a distressed handle, a worn box, etc. However, we ensure that all refurbished Upseats have the same integrity as our new seats.

Why have these seats been returned?

It depends on the customer. However, the most common reasons include receiving duplicates as gifts or the seat not fitting their baby.

I have an Upseat I no longer use. Can I return it to include in your program?

We love your sustainability mindset! In an attempt to reduce carbon emissions that take place during the shipping process, we ask that you kindly donate your gently-used Upseat to a local organization or family.
